2026 Hakone Gora Park Cool Stroll: A Full One-Day Course

Spend a day enjoying the coolness of the highlands at Hakone Gora Park, spread across the hillside of Gōra in Hakone. Gora Park is a formal French-style garden centered on a fountain pond; since Gōra sits at a higher elevation than the flatlands, it stays cooler, and even in September and October, when warming temperatures keep the heat going, the breeze passing around the fountain feels pleasantly cool. The park is open from 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry 16:30) from March to November, open year-round (with occasional closures for maintenance). Admission is 650 yen for adults and free for elementary school students and younger, and admission is free with a Hakone Free Pass. This course stops in the morning at Gōra Station, the terminal of the Hakone Tozan Railway, and at the Hakone Open-Air Museum, where sculptures line the outdoor grounds, then spends the hot afternoon hours leisurely in the highland garden.
