2026 Full-Day Course: A Garden Stroll at the Ehrismann Residence and Yamate 234 Bankan (Motomachi Park)

This is a day to leisurely enjoy the Ehrismann Residence (エリスマン邸) and Yamate 234 Bankan (山手234番館), two Western-style houses standing on the hills of Yamate (山手), Yokohama. Both are located in and around Motomachi Park (元町公園), with free admission. They are open 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM; the Ehrismann Residence is closed on the second Wednesday of each month, and the Yamate 234 Bankan on the fourth Wednesday (or the following day if that falls on a holiday; both are closed from December 29 to January 3). In the morning, enjoy shopping and bakery-hopping at Motomachi Shopping Street (元町商店街), the gateway to Yamate, then take in the views of Yokohama Port and the rose garden at Harbor View Park (港の見える丘公園) on the hill. In the afternoon, head to the Western-style houses. Spending time peeking into each room of these houses within a tree-lined park is a small adventure for children too. This is a classic Yamate walking course, with everything within easy walking distance.
