2026 Kishi Residence (岸邸) Old Folk House Garden Walk Full-Day Course

A day visiting the Kishi Residence (岸邸), an old folk house preserved in a satoyama village in northern Atsugi City. Admission is free. It's open 10:00-17:00 from April to September (last entry 16:30) and 10:00-15:00 from October to March (last entry 14:30), closed Mondays and Tuesdays (the following weekday if a holiday) and over the New Year holidays. In the morning, start from Honatsugi Station (本厚木駅) and enjoy the free exhibits on Atsugi's history and nature at the Atsugi Municipal Museum (あつぎ郷土博物館). In the afternoon, head to the Kishi Residence (岸邸), standing in the village of Kamiogino (上荻野). Sit on the veranda and slowly take in the traditional house's structure and garden. The earthen-floor area, the tatami rooms, the garden's trees - this is a quiet countryside day where you can encounter real 'old-fashioned living,' not just something from a textbook.
