2026 Full-Day Garden Stroll Course: Okurayama Memorial Hall (大倉山記念館)
A day of leisurely strolling through the calm streets of Kohoku, Yokohama, centered on Okurayama Memorial Hall (大倉山記念館), which stands on a hill above Okurayama Station (大倉山駅) on the Tokyu Toyoko Line (東急東横線). The hall is a Western-style building notable for its white columns, open 9:00-22:00, with free viewing of the lobby and corridors (closed on the second Monday of the month, or the third Monday if that falls on a public holiday). Elm Street Shopping Street (エルム通り商店街), stretching from the station, has a white streetscape designed to match the hall's architecture, and just walking through it lifts the mood of the trip. Okurayama Park (大倉山公園), home to the memorial hall, is known for its plum grove, usually at its best from late January to March. In autumn, families can slowly climb the tree-lined slope and enjoy the special, out-of-the-ordinary feeling of a Western-style building atop a hill.
