2026 Full-Day Course: Garden Stroll Through Odawara Literary Museum and Hakushu Children's Song Museum
Spend a day soaking in a literary atmosphere in a quiet mansion district near the sea in Odawara. The Odawara Literary Museum and Hakushu Children's Song Museum (小田原文学館・白秋童謡館) sit along Saikachi-koji (西海子小路), a lane known for its cherry-tree avenue, and display materials on writers connected to Odawara. The museum is open 10:00-17:00 (last admission 16:30) from March to October, and 10:00-16:30 (last admission 16:00) from November to February; closed Mondays (or the following weekday if Monday is a holiday). Admission is 250 yen for adults and 100 yen for elementary/junior-high students (a shared ticket for both museums; free for preschoolers), making it easy to visit both museums along with the garden. In the morning, enjoy snacking on kamaboko and satsuma-age from long-established shops on Kamaboko Street (かまぼこ通り) along the old Tokaido Road (旧東海道); in the afternoon, walk from Saikachi-koji to the literary museum. The children's-song exhibits are approachable for kids too, offering the joy of discovering, 「I know that song!」
