2026 Full-Day Garden Walk Course: Yokomizo Residence (Misono Park)

A day to enjoy a thatched-roof old farmhouse and its rural garden at Misono Park's Yokomizo Residence (横溝屋敷) in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama (横浜市鶴見区). The Yokomizo family served for generations as village headmen of Shishigaya Village (獅子ヶ谷村), and their old estate, including a thatched-roof nagayamon gate, main house, and storehouses, is preserved and open to the public as a park. Open 9:00-16:30 (the main house is open 10:00-16:00), admission is free (closed on the 1st and 3rd Mondays; if that falls on a holiday, closed the following day; also closed 12/29-1/3 for the New Year holidays). Parking is available. In the morning, enjoy a stroll around the ponds at the prefectural Mitsuike Park (三ツ池公園), known as a cherry blossom viewing spot, then head to Yokomizo Residence in the afternoon. A course for slowly experiencing old farming village life at an estate nestled in a valley that survives in the middle of the city.
