2026 Full-Day Old Farmhouse Walk Course: Folklore Museum (Former Fujima Family Residence)

A day to experience life from the past at the Folklore Museum, which opens the old farmhouse Former Fujima Family Residence (旧藤間家住宅) that remains in Yanagishima, Chigasaki City (茅ヶ崎市柳島). Open only on Fridays and Saturdays, from 9:00 to 16:00. Admission is free. As you walk through the earthen floor area and tatami rooms, parents and children can discover together the ingenuity of homes from an era without electricity or gas. The plan is to get some exercise at Yanagishima Shiosai Park (柳島しおさい公園) in the same Yanagishima area in the morning, then slowly savor the quiet of the old farmhouse in the afternoon. The museum is closed during the New Year holidays (December 27 to January 4), so please check the opening days before you go.
