2026 Full-Day Garden Stroll Course at Jochi-ji Temple (浄智寺)
A day to savor stillness at Jochi-ji (浄智寺), an ancient temple ranked fourth among the Kamakura Five Mountains (鎌倉五山), tucked quietly away in a valley (yato) in Kita-Kamakura. Visiting hours are 9:00 to 16:30, open every day, with admission of 300 yen for adults and 100 yen for junior high school students and under. The grounds, compact yet full of highlights—mossy stone steps, a Chinese-style bell tower gate, and scattered yagura (rock-cut caves) and small caverns—can be explored with children in an adventurous spirit. The plan is to visit nearby Engaku-ji (円覚寺), just steps from Kita-Kamakura Station (北鎌倉駅), in the morning, then take time to soak in the quiet of Jochi-ji's valley in the afternoon. This walkable, station-to-station Kita-Kamakura stroll is a great fit for families who prefer traveling by train.
