2026 Sagamihara Kominka-en (Old Folk House Garden) (Former Aoyagi-ji Temple Kuri) Full-Day Course

This is a day to visit the Sagamihara Kominka-en (相模原市古民家園) (Former Aoyagi-ji Temple Kuri (旧青柳寺庫裡)) inside Sagamigawa Shizen no Mura Park (相模川自然の村公園) on the banks of the Sagami River. It is open from 9:30 to 16:30 (until 17:30 in July and August), with free admission. It is closed over the New Year holidays (December 28-January 3). This thatched-roof building was relocated and restored from an Edo-period temple's kuri (kitchen quarters), and you can step up onto its earthen floor and wooden flooring to experience life of the past firsthand. The plan is to let the kids play freely by the stream and on the lawn plaza in the same park in the morning, enjoy the nearby view of Ogura Bridge, and then take your time exploring the old folk house in the afternoon. There is also a parking lot, making this an easy riverside day to reach by car.
