This is a day spent enjoying a quiet garden moment in the middle of the city at Shikien (四季園), located within Todoroki Ryokuchi (等々力緑地) in Nakahara Ward, Kawasaki City. Todoroki Ryokuchi is one of Kawasaki's flagship large parks, home to a soccer stadium, plazas, and playground areas. Shikien, tucked in one corner of the park, is a calm Japanese-style space planted with seasonal flora as its name suggests, and the moment you step in from the lively plaza, the atmosphere changes completely. In the morning, let your child play to their heart's content in the park's plaza and playground; in the afternoon, take it slow and admire the plants at Shikien, a day with a good balance of activity and stillness. With a parking lot on site, it is easy to visit by car, and it is also accessible by bus from Musashi-Kosugi Station (武蔵小杉駅).
