2026 Full-Day Garden Walk at Takasago Ryokuchi (高砂緑地) and Shoraian (松籟庵)

This is a course for experiencing both the Shonan (湘南) coast and a Japanese garden in a single day at Takasago Ryokuchi (高砂緑地), a green hill within walking distance of Chigasaki Station (茅ヶ崎駅). Takasago Ryokuchi (高砂緑地) is a community relaxation spot wrapped in pine woods, and admission to its Japanese garden and the Sukiya-zukuri-style Shoraian (松籟庵) tea house is free. You can stroll leisurely along the stepping stones and mossy greenery around the pond, listening to the sound of wind through the pines instead of ocean waves. Shoraian (松籟庵) is open 9:00-16:30 (the garden until 17:00), closed Mondays (or the next weekday if Monday is a holiday) and December 29-January 3. In the morning, walk along and take in the Shonan (湘南) coast at Southern Beach Chigasaki (サザンビーチちがさき), and in the afternoon, enjoy a garden stroll in the quiet green space on the other side of the station. It's a day to enjoy both faces of Chigasaki: the sea and the garden.
