2026 Hakone-en (箱根園) Full-Day Course

This course lets you enjoy Hakone's nature and animals for a full day at Hakone-en (箱根園), a leisure complex on the shores of Lake Ashi (芦ノ湖) that brings together an aquarium, a petting-animal zoo, and a ropeway. Opening hours vary by facility: the Hakone-en Aquarium (箱根園水族館) is open 9:00-16:30, the petting zoo Dakko Shite! ZOO! (だっこして！ZOO！) is open 10:00-16:00, and the Mt. Komagatake Ropeway (駒ヶ岳ロープウェー) is open 9:00-17:00. Admission is charged per facility: the aquarium is 1,600 yen for adults and 800 yen for children (ages 4 to elementary school), Dakko Shite! ZOO! is 1,500 yen for adults (junior high school age and up) and 1,300 yen for children (ages 4 to elementary school), and a round-trip on the Mt. Komagatake Ropeway is 2,200 yen for adults and 1,100 yen for elementary school children. The day starts at Hakone-Yumoto Station (箱根湯本駅), the gateway to Hakone, then heads to the shores of Lake Ashi by Izu Hakone Bus (伊豆箱根バス). After strolling through the neighboring Hakone Kuzuryu Forest (箱根九頭龍の森), spend the rest of the day playing at Hakone-en until the afternoon.
