2026 MINAKA Odawara Observatory Footbath Garden Night View: A Full-Day Course

This is a day for the whole family to watch the town of Odawara fade into evening from the observation footbath garden on the 14th floor of MINAKA Odawara, the complex directly connected to Odawara Station. The footbath garden is open from 10:00 to 18:00 and free to use. Below you stretch the streets of Odawara and Sagami Bay, with the mountains of Hakone visible on clear days. In the early afternoon, head to Odawara Castle Ruins Park. Take a relaxed walk through the free-to-enter park, and if you climb the castle keep (tenshukaku) (open 9:00-17:00, last entry 16:30; adults ¥500, elementary/junior-high students ¥200), a full view of the castle town once called impregnable opens up before you. In the evening, move to MINAKA Odawara, where the highlight is soaking your feet in the footbath while waiting for the evening view. In seasons when the days grow shorter, you can also enjoy the sight of the town's lights beginning to switch on before closing time. It gets chilly in the evening after soaking your feet, so don't forget a towel and a jacket.
