2026 Oyama Cable Car (大山ケーブルカー) Winter Night View Operation: A Full-Day Course

This is a day for the whole family to enjoy the city lights spreading across the Kanto Plain (関東平野) during the Oyama Cable Car's (大山ケーブルカー) period-limited 《Winter Night View Operation》. Regular operating hours are 9:00-16:30 on weekdays and 9:00-17:00 on weekends and holidays (every 20 minutes), but the winter night view operation extends service until 19:00 on a limited basis, mainly on weekends and holidays in January (in 2026 it runs on seven days: January 10-12, 17-18, and 24-25, with upward tickets sold until 18:45). Fares between Oyama Cable (大山ケーブル) and Afuri Jinja (阿夫利神社) are 640 yen one-way for adults and 320 yen for children, or 1,270 yen round-trip for adults and 640 yen for children. Start the early afternoon with some food-hopping along Koma Sando (こま参道), then take the cable car up to Oyama Afuri Shrine Lower Shrine (大山阿夫利神社下社). As the sun sets, lights come on in the city below, and the sea of lights seen through the cable car window on the way back is the highlight.
