2026 Zama Park Night View Full-Day Course
This is a day for enjoying the sunset and city lights with your family from Zama Park (座間公園), set on a hilltop overlooking the Sagami River. Zama Park is a scenic park adjacent to Zama Shrine (座間神社), offering views of the distant Mt. Oyama and the Tanzawa mountain range as well as a panorama of the Sagami River (restrooms available in the park). In the early afternoon, enjoy walking through the waterside and coppice woods and observing wildlife at the Kanagawa Prefectural Zama Yatoyama Park (県立座間谷戸山公園), where the countryside's natural landscape remains largely untouched. Next, worship at Zama Shrine, long cherished as Sagami's Iizuna-sama, then head to neighboring Zama Park in the evening. The climax is watching the transition as the sun sets behind the Tanzawa mountains and the city lights come on across the far bank of the Sagami River. It gets chilly on the hilltop after sundown, so don't forget a jacket. Since the way home will be dark, hold your child's hand and choose a well-lit route.
