2026 Kobo-yama Park Gongen-yama Observatory Night View Full-Day Course

This is a day for enjoying the sunset and night view from the Gongen-yama Observatory (権現山展望台) in Kobo-yama Park (弘法山公園), Hadano City. In the early afternoon, pick out fresh Hadano vegetables and famous-water souvenirs at Jibasanzu (じばさんず), the direct-sales shop run by JA Hadano, then visit Izumo Taisha Sagami Branch Shrine (出雲大社相模分祠), cherished as the Kanto region's Izumo-san. In the evening, move to Kobo-yama Park and wait for sunset at the summit observatory on Mt. Gongen. As it grows dark, the city lights of the Hadano Basin spread out at your feet; the park is equipped with a parking lot and restrooms. Since you'll walk a mountain trail to reach the observatory, be sure to bring a headlamp or flashlight to prepare for the descent after sunset. Don't forget comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing, either.
