2026 Full-Day Course: Night Views at Heiwa-Chuo Park (平和中央公園)
Spend a day enjoying a port town's night view with your family from Heiwa-Chuo Park (平和中央公園), on a hilltop in Yokosuka. The park is open from 7:30 AM to 11:00 PM and free to enter (parking at the adjacent Bunka Kaikan cultural hall is paid), and from the hilltop observation deck you can look out over the port and town of Yokosuka and Tokyo Bay. In the early afternoon, look up at Mikasa, one of the world's three great memorial battleships, at the waterfront Mikasa Park (三笠公園), and take in views of Sarushima (猿島) and passing ships from within the park. Next, head to the Yokosuka City Museum of Natural and Human History (横須賀市自然・人文博物館) inside Heiwa-Chuo Park. Admission is free, and it is a popular museum with families for learning in depth about the nature and history of the Miura Peninsula. In the evening, move on to the park's observation deck, where the highlight is savoring the gradual change as lights come on in the port and town at sunset. It gets windy and cold on the hilltop after dark, so do not forget a jacket. The slope on the way back is dark, so hold your child's hand and choose a well-lit path.
