2026 Night View of Yokohama Customs House (Queen's Tower): A Full-Day Course
This is a day to enjoy Yokohama Customs House (横浜税関), known as Queen's Tower (クイーンの塔), one of the Three Towers of Yokohama (横浜三塔), as it transitions from evening to night. The building's exterior illumination can be viewed from outside year-round, free of charge. The emerald green, Islamic-mosque-style dome floating in the night sky is one of the night views that best represents Yokohama's historic townscape. In the early afternoon, stroll along Nihon Odori (日本大通り), where ginkgo trees line the street among historic buildings, then walk while taking in the harbor views along the elevated walkway built on a former railway line, the Yamashita Rinko Line Promenade (山下臨港線プロムナード), before heading to Kaigan Dori (海岸通り) in time for sunset. The exhibition room inside the building, Queen's Hiroba (クイーンのひろば), is open from 10:00 to 16:00 with free admission, but it closes in the evening, so at night only the exterior can be viewed. If you also want to see the exhibits, we recommend stopping by earlier in the day. Autumn evenings are cold, so please bring a jacket.
