2026 Full-Day Course: The Night View of Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall (Jack's Tower)

This is a day to enjoy Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall, known as Jack's Tower (ジャックの塔), one of the Three Towers of Yokohama (横浜三塔), from dusk into night. Opening hours are 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, closed on the second Wednesday of each month and during the New Year holidays. Viewing the illuminated exterior from outside is free. Spend the early afternoon relaxing in Yokohama Park's Japanese garden and play areas, then stroll through Bashamichi Shopping Street (馬車道商店街), the birthplace of Japan's gas lamps, before heading to Nihon Odori (日本大通り) as dusk falls. The clock tower, completed in 1917 (Taisho 6), takes on an entirely different expression as it glows against the night sky compared to daytime. Interior tours are limited to specific public-opening days (generally the 15th of each month), and since the hall is open at night mainly for rental users, evening viewing is centered on the exterior. Autumn nights can be chilly, so bring a jacket.
