2026 Full-Day Course: Night View from Kisha-michi (汽車道, the Railway Promenade)
Spend a day enjoying the night view of Minato Mirai (みなとみらい) from Kisha-michi (汽車道), a promenade over the water built on the former route of a Meiji-era harbor railway line. Kisha-michi (汽車道) is open all day, running from in front of Sakuragicho Station (桜木町駅) across the canal toward World Porters (ワールドポーターズ). As you walk the promenade, where the old rails still remain, and cross the historic iron bridges, the high-rise towers of Minato Mirai (みなとみらい) rise up ahead of you while the city lights reflect on the water, making for one of Yokohama's finest night walks. In the early afternoon, view the sailing ship at Nippon Maru Memorial Park (日本丸メモリアルパーク), then shop and rest at Yokohama World Porters (横浜ワールドポーターズ), before heading to Kisha-michi (汽車道) as the sun sets. You can slowly savor the transition from evening view to night view from above the canal. The sea breeze turns cold at night, so do not forget a jacket. The promenade has raised rail sections, so watch your step once it gets dark.
