2026 Full-Day Course: Night Views of the Kanagawa Prefectural Government Main Building (King's Tower)
This is a day exploring Yokohama's port area centered on the illumination of the Kanagawa Prefectural Government Main Building (神奈川県庁本庁舎), known as King's Tower (キングの塔), the king of the Yokohama Three Towers (横浜三塔). In the early afternoon, stroll along Nihon Odori (日本大通り), a street lined with ginkgo trees and historic buildings, then take a relaxed break at the Japanese garden and playground equipment in Yokohama Park (横浜公園). In the evening, return to Nihon Odori to watch King's Tower light up as the sun sets. The illumination runs from sunset to 10:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (as listed in the Japan Night View Heritage), so this course is designed to start on a Friday. The historic building bathed in light makes for an elegant, Yokohama-style night view. Tower tours (including the rooftop observation deck) are available on weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM (closed on public holidays and during the New Year holidays), so if you also want to enjoy the view from the top of the tower, it is best to stop by before evening. The sea breeze gets cold at night, so do not forget a jacket.
