2026 Kazunodaira Observatory Starry Sky Full-Day Course

Kazunodaira Observatory (鹿角平天文台) in Samegawa Village (鮫川村) sits atop a hill 708m above sea level, with little artificial light nearby and a full 360-degree view - an 'ideal spot for astronomical observation.' It is equipped with a 35cm Newtonian reflector telescope and a 12.5cm fluorite refractor telescope, and holds free, reservation-required, instructor-guided stargazing sessions (typically 19:00-21:00). Since there are no streetlights around the observatory, visitors are advised to bring a flashlight.
