2026 Jodo-daira Observatory Starry Sky Full-Day Course
Jodo-daira Observatory in Fukushima City sits at an elevation of 1,600m within Bandai-Asahi National Park, making it the highest-altitude public observatory in Japan. Night openings run every Wednesday and Saturday from mid-May to the end of October (weather permitting), and in October the hours are 19:00-21:00. The observatory is closed every Monday (or the following weekday if Monday is a public holiday). It cannot be entered on days other than night-opening days, so please check this carefully before visiting. Admission is free, and the adjacent parking lot has space for about 300 standard-size cars.
