A Full Day Under the Stars at Gekko Astronomical Observatory (月光天文台), 2026

This is a day centered around Gekko Astronomical Observatory (月光天文台) in Kannami, Tagata District, Shizuoka Prefecture. According to the official website, stargazing sessions with a chosen theme are held on select Saturday nights several times a month, and on this particular day the large 50cm-aperture reflecting telescope is specially opened to the public. Admission is 500 yen per person (300 yen for junior high school students and younger); no advance reservation is required, so you can simply show up.
