2026 Full-Day Course: The Starry Sky at Minakami Kogen Hotel 200

Located in Fujiwara, Minakami Town, Tone District, Gunma Prefecture, Minakami Kogen Hotel 200 is a resort hotel set in a forest at an elevation of 966m, registered as part of the Minakami UNESCO Eco Park. The 'Starry Sky Viewing Event: A Sky Full of Stars!' introduced on the official site runs daily from late April to late November (cancelled on cloudy days), starting around 8:00 PM after sunset for about 30 minutes. Participants gather in the lobby, admission is free (no mention of whether reservations are required). On clear nights, the Milky Way is said to be visible to the naked eye. It is about 19km (about 30 minutes) from Minakami IC on the Kanetsu Expressway, and about 50 minutes by free shuttle bus from Jomo-Kogen Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen (reservation required at least 3 days in advance).
