2026 Full-Day Course: Stargazing at Kyukamura Urabandai Observatory

The observatory at Kyukamura Urabandai (休暇村裏磐梯) is a guests-only facility housing a 150mm-aperture refracting telescope inside a 360-degree electrically rotating octagonal dome. A guided stargazing program runs from April to November, 20:00-20:30, free of charge and with no reservation needed (gather on the hotel's 1st floor). On cloudy or rainy days, and during winter, the program switches to a slideshow instead. Since a hotel stay is required to take part, please check the official Kyukamura Urabandai website in advance.
