2026 Full-Day Course: Stargazing at Jomo Kogen Camp Ground

Jomo Kogen Camp Ground (上毛高原キャンプグランド), located in Takayama Village, Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture (群馬県吾妻郡高山村), sits at an elevation of about 700m and offers clear air with little artificial light. Its official website introduces stargazing as one of the great charms of camping in Gunma, describing the beauty of its night sky. Overnight (camping) guests can enjoy stargazing at the campsite at night. Entry itself is free, but using a campsite costs a fee (from around 2,000 yen and up per night). For navigation, it is recommended to set 'Takayama Golf Club' (高山ゴルフ倶楽部) as your destination, since the northern route has narrow roads. The Gunma Prefectural Astronomical Observatory (県立ぐんま天文台) is also nearby.
