2026 Full-Day Starry Sky Course at Oyama Observation Park

Oyama Observation Park is a lookout park at about 400m elevation on the northern outer rim of Aogashima. It's about 1km from the village, reached by a light 10-15 minute climb from the trailhead. Its main appeal is the starry sky unique to this remote island with no streetlights, and it is featured on the official Aogashima Village website's 'Star Ark, Aogashima' page. Night visits are expected, and the official site advises that 'a flashlight is essential at night' and to 'watch your footing at night as balance becomes unsteady.' A round, blue-tiled monument shaped like the Earth marks the spot.
