2026 Full-Day Course: Starry Skies at Tango Umi to Hoshi no Mieru Oka Park

Tango Umi to Hoshi no Mieru Oka Park (丹後海と星の見える丘公園, nicknamed Umihoshi Park) in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture, is a prefectural park set in satoyama countryside overlooking Miyazu Bay and Amanohashidate. Opening hours are 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (until 8:00 PM from July to September), with free admission, but the park is normally closed at night, so ordinary visitors cannot view the stars after dark. The surest way to see the night sky is to stay at 'Ketohare no Awai' (けとはれのあわい), the lodging facility within the park (check-in is handled at the Ruriho Activity Center; reservations are made via the official booking site at reserve.489ban.net). Only on the days when the 'Stargazing Observation Event' is held, about once every two months, can ordinary visitors also stay until 9:00 PM to view the stars.
