2026 Full-Day Course: Starry Skies at Tamba Astronomical Observatory (丹波天文館)

This is a day centered on nighttime stargazing at the Tamba Astronomical Observatory (丹波天文館), located within the Kyoto Prefectural Tamba Nature Sports Park (京都府立丹波自然運動公園) in Kyotamba Town, Funai District, Kyoto Prefecture. It is equipped with a 50cm-aperture Cassegrain reflecting telescope, with a limiting magnitude of 15.5. Nighttime observation is held only on Saturdays (Tuesdays and Saturdays from July to September), free of charge, but advance reservation is required by 3 days before your visit date (TEL 0771-82-0300). Daytime observatory visits (13:30-16:00) require no reservation and are free to tour. Along the way is also the roadside station Michi-no-Eki Kyotamba Mimu no Sato (Kyotamba Marche, 6:00-21:00).
