2026 Kyoto Sangyo University Observatory Full-Day Starry Sky Course
This is a day centered around the stargazing session held at Kyoto Sangyo University's Kamiyama Observatory in Kita Ward, Kyoto City. You can observe with the Araki Telescope (1.3m aperture, the largest at any private university in Japan), with staff explanations included. In winter (October to December), sessions are held on Saturdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM (reception 5:30 to 7:30 PM, admission free). Advance reservation is required, made through the reservation form on the official website's event calendar. Sessions are suspended during the rainy season, the coldest part of winter (January to mid-March), university-wide closure days, and public holidays. Nearby is also the World Heritage site Kamigamo Shrine (visiting hours 5:30 AM to 5:00 PM, free grounds admission).
