2026 Full-Day Course: Starry Skies at Bisei Astronomical Observatory

This day centers on Bisei Astronomical Observatory (美星天文台) in Bisei-cho, Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture. It is a public observatory with a 101cm reflecting telescope, located in Bisei-cho, which in November 2021 became the first area in Asia certified as a Dark Sky Community. It is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 18:00 to 22:00 (last entry 21:30); please inquire for details. During the day, you can visit Chusei Yumegahara (中世夢が原; admission 800 yen for adults, 500 yen for children, closed Thursdays, the day after public holidays, and year-end/New Year) to see a historical recreated village on the Kibi Plateau.
