2026 Full-Day Starry Sky Course at Shimanto Astronomical Observatory

A day centered on the stargazing event at Shimanto Astronomical Observatory (四万十天文台), a public observatory in Nishitosa Moi, Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture. The stargazing session runs year-round (closed Wednesdays), from 19:50-21:00 (about 60 minutes). Fees are 520 yen for adults, 300 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and free for infants. Advance phone reservation by the day before is required (Hotel Seira Shimanto, 0880-52-2225). Arrivals after 20:00 may not be accommodated, so please do not be late for the start time. Spend the day touring the Nishitosa area along the Shimanto River, then enjoy the night sky certified as a former Environment Agency Starry Sky Town after dark.
