2026 Full-Day Starry Sky Course at the Mihara City Uneyama Observatory (三原市宇根山天文台)

This day centers on the Mihara City Uneyama Observatory (三原市宇根山天文台), standing at the summit of Mt. Une (699m), the highest peak in the Bingo region. Night opening is limited to Saturdays, 18:00-22:00 (including event days), and nighttime entry is not possible at other times. Admission is 310 yen for adults, 210 yen for junior/senior high school students, and 100 yen for elementary school students (group discounts available). It is equipped with a 60cm reflecting telescope, additional refracting/reflecting telescopes, and a digital planetarium (5m dome diameter). It closes temporarily in severe weather such as typhoons, heavy snow, or lightning, but stays open in rain. During the day, you can stroll the approach path at Buttsuji Temple (佛通寺) in Mihara City, known as a famous spot for autumn foliage.
