2026 Shiragamine Highlands and Cosmos Space Museum Starry Sky Full-Day Course

Shiragamine Highlands spreads across the mid-slope of Mt. Gokahara, at an elevation of 1,057m, in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture. From late September to late October, about 200,000 cosmos flowers reach their peak bloom (peak is around October 10). The 'Cosmos Space Museum' standing on the highlands has free general admission, and is open Tuesday to Thursday 10:00-20:00, Friday to Sunday 10:00-22:00, closed Mondays (or the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). The sliding-roof observation room on the top floor houses three large telescopes and one solar telescope, and you can observe with commentary from an astronomy guide. Special observation sessions are also held to match astronomical phenomena such as solar and lunar eclipses and meteor showers.
