This day centers on the observation session at 'Tainai Nature Observatory,' located on Tainai-daira at an elevation of 500m in Tainai City, Niigata Prefecture. Observation sessions are held every Saturday and on consecutive holiday days, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM (7:00 PM to 9:00 PM from September onward). The fee is just the admission fee: 300 yen for high school students and adults, 150 yen for elementary and junior high school students (discounts for groups of 20 or more, free for young children). Opening hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (admission until 4:30 PM), closed every Monday (or the following day if a holiday) and during winter (December to mid-April), though it stays open without closing from July 25 to August 31.
