2026 Mt. Ibuki Driveway Stargazing: A Full-Day Course

This is a day centered around Sky Terrace Ibukiyama (スカイテラス伊吹山) at the summit of Mt. Ibuki in Maibara City, at the top of the Mt. Ibuki Driveway (伊吹山ドライブウェイ). Regular operating hours are 8:00 am to 7:00 pm (last entry 5:00 pm, October-November), but October 24, 2026 falls on a special night-opening date (a night-stay date), when entry is allowed until 9:00 pm and, once inside, visitors may stay on the premises (including sleeping in their car) until 6:00 am the following morning. The live stargazing commentary 'Ibuki no Yozora' (いぶきのよぞら) is scheduled for about 70 minutes after sunset at the north side of the summit parking lot (free to join, no reservation needed; the start time varies by day). A separate toll applies for the Mt. Ibuki Driveway. On days other than special night-opening dates, the road closes the same day and overnight stays are not possible, so please be sure to check the official website for your visit dates.
