2027 Akazaki Promenade Starry Sky Full-Day Course

Kozushima Village has designated the entire village a Starry Sky Park under its 'Beautiful Starry Sky Light Pollution Prevention Ordinance' and 'Starry Sky Park Ordinance,' and in December 2020 became the first municipality in Tokyo to be certified as a Dark Sky Sanctuary (Dark Sky Island) by the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA). Akazaki Promenade (赤崎遊歩道) is a roughly 500m wooden boardwalk built along Akazaki Beach (赤崎海岸) in the northern part of the island, and it lies within the certified Dark Sky Sanctuary area. It is about 15 minutes by bus from Kozushima Port, has restrooms, and showers/a shop are available only in summer.
