2027 Ozenuma Visitor Center Starry Sky: A Full-Day Course
This day centers on the Ozenuma Visitor Center (established by the Ministry of the Environment, operated by the Oze Conservation Foundation) on the eastern shore of Lake Ozenuma within Oze National Park, in Hinoemata Village, Minamiaizu District, Fukushima Prefecture. The “Summer Starry Sky Observation Session” is held on designated dates in summer (scheduled 19:30-20:15, free of charge, capacity of about 15 people, meeting point at the Ozenuma Visitor Center). Since the dates vary from year to year, please check the Oze Conservation Foundation's official website for the latest schedule. The Visitor Center's hours are 7:30-16:00 (open mid-May to late October), and there is no direct vehicle access — visitors must walk in from the parking lots at Oike or Numayama Pass (about 50-65 minutes on foot from Numayama Pass). Since descending the mountain after sunset is not realistic, if you plan to join the starry sky observation session, it is strongly recommended to plan around staying overnight at a mountain lodge on the shore of Lake Ozenuma.
