2026 Full-Day Starry Sky Course at National Michinoku Forest Park (Lakeside)

At the National Michinoku Forest Park (Lakeside) in Kawasaki Town, Shibata District, Miyagi Prefecture, special stargazing sessions are held irregularly using the Sendai City Astronomical Observatory's mobile astronomy vehicle 'Vega' (ベガ号), in cooperation with the observatory. This event lets visitors observe the stars in the park after closing, with the lights turned off; please check the park's official website event calendar for dates. Regular opening hours are 9:30-17:00 (until 16:00 in winter, November 1 to end of February), admission is 450 yen for adults (age 15 and up), and free for junior high school students and younger. Closed every Tuesday (or the following weekday if it is a public holiday). It is recommended to take a break at Michi-no-Eki Kawasaki during the day before heading to the park.
