2026 Izumo Science Museum Starry Sky Full-Day Course

This is a day centered around the monthly stargazing event 'Enjoy Stargazing,' held at the Izumo Science Museum (出雲科学館) in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. In recent sessions it has run from 19:00 to 20:00 with free entry and exit during that time (no reservation needed, free of charge), and it is canceled in cloudy or rainy weather (whether it will be held is announced on the official website from 15:00 on the day). The event date varies by month, so please check the Izumo Science Museum official website for the latest schedule. Admission to the museum itself is free (closed every Monday and during the New Year holidays). During the day, you can also stop by Izumo Taisha (出雲大社), about a 20-minute drive away (free to visit).
