A historic hot spring town celebrated since the Man'yo era. Along the Chitose and Fujiki Rivers stand inns and public bathhouses, beloved by numerous literary figures. Soak in the fine hot spring waters at day-bath accommodations or public bathhouses, then take a leisurely stroll through the hot spring town with hot spring dumplings in hand—the perfect way to conclude your journey.
Tips
Bringing your own towel makes day bathing more economical. The public bath "Kogome-yu" is conveniently located along the route to Yugawara Station, making it easy to stop by on your way back.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes; late afternoon is an ideal time when day baths are less crowded
