About this spot

A National Important Cultural Property featuring a wooden brick Western-style building and Japanese building constructed in the Taisho period, along with a strolling garden. The grand reception hall and shoin-style Japanese rooms offer a glimpse into the lifestyle of a wealthy merchant of that era. The red-brick exterior is extremely photogenic and highly recommended as a spot for family commemorative photos.

Tips

There are many stairs inside the building, so it's reassuring to leave the stroller at the entrance. The tour takes about 30-45 minutes, making it a compact visit that's ideally timed before heading to SKIP City in the afternoon.

Best time to visit

Allow 40 minutes. Early afternoon tends to be relatively relaxed for touring.
