About this spot

Tokyo's kitchen with approximately 400 shops packed together. From early morning you can enjoy eating as you walk: grilled tuna skewers, freshly made tamagoyaki (Japanese omelets), seafood bowls, and more. Walking the narrow lanes while hearing the spirited calls of vendors, you'll experience the depth of food culture that Tsukiji has nurtured.

Tips

Shops operate from early morning and start closing in early afternoon, so morning is prime time. For food stalls, there's usually space to eat at the shop front, and having cash is handy since smaller shops may not accept cards.

Best time to visit

Allow 2 hours. Saturday can be particularly crowded, so arriving before 9am is recommended.
