An Edo-period daimyo garden with a tidal pond set against a backdrop of modern high-rise buildings. At the tea house on the island in the middle of the pond, you can enjoy matcha and Japanese confections enveloped in a tranquility that feels far removed from the city center. This peaceful garden walk perfectly caps off the morning's food stalls and afternoon shopping.
Tips
Admission is 300 yen for adults. The matcha set at the island tea house is a prime spot overlooking the pond. Since the garden closes early, allow extra time at the end.

Allow 1 hour. Late afternoon's soft light is ideal for a stroll.
