Stroll Through the Edo Castle Site Garden, Rest on the Grass Plaza

About this spot

A garden attached to the Imperial Palace, developed from the former main enclosure and secondary enclosure sites of Edo Castle. Admission is free. There are many highlights including massive stone walls, the former castle keep site, and the Ninomaru Garden with seasonal flowers. A surprisingly peaceful atmosphere for the heart of the city, where children can play freely on the spacious grass plaza.

Tips

The gardens are closed on Mondays and Fridays, so check in advance. From Tokyo Station, entry via Ote-mon gate is most convenient. Most of the paths are gravel, so a baby carrier is more practical than a stroller.

Best time to visit

Approximately 90 minutes. Morning hours are quietest and most relaxing for strolling.
