About this spot
Kawagoe's symbol, which has announced the time to the castle town since the Edo period. This wooden bell tower, approximately 16 meters tall, still rings four times daily (6 AM, noon, 3 PM, and 6 PM). Below the bell tower is Yakushi Shrine (薬師神社), believed to bring benefits for eye health.
Tips
Visit at 3 PM to catch the live bell-ringing. The iconic photo spot gets crowded, so hold your child's hand and stay off the street while taking pictures.
