About this spot

A Great Buddha standing as the world's tallest bronze statue at 120 meters. The interior allows visitors to climb to the observation deck, offering panoramic views of the Kanto Plain on clear days. The grounds feature seasonal flower gardens and a small animal park where visitors can interact with squirrels and rabbits—a must-see Ushiku spot for everyone from grandchildren to grandparents.

Tips

The elevator for interior viewing gets crowded, so first thing in the morning is most comfortable. The grounds are stroller-friendly, and the small animal park is hugely popular with children. Having small change for animal feed is appreciated.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours total. Early morning right after opening is less crowded and more pleasant.
