Located within Kasama Art Forest Park, this is Ibaraki Prefecture's premier ceramics museum and the first such specialized public museum in eastern Japan. Exhibits range from masterpieces by renowned potters, including Living National Treasures like Hazan Itaya and Yasushige Matsui, to the history of Kasama ware and contemporary ceramics. Understanding how to appreciate vessels enriches both the hands-on pottery experience ahead and your appreciation of pottery pieces.

General admission to the permanent collection is an affordable 320 yen for adults. Special exhibition fees vary, so check ahead. The museum shop's ceramic pieces are also worth exploring.
