Walk Through the Cedar-Lined Path to Visit a Forest Power Spot Shrine
About this spot
A premier power spot in Ibaraki, said to enshrine 188 deities. As you pass through the torii gate, the sacred tree 'Sanbon Cedar' (三本杉)—over 500 years old—stands towering above, and the moss-covered path is enveloped in a serene forest atmosphere. It's the perfect way to end a day of lively play with a quiet forest walk as a family.
Tips
The path is covered in gravel, so baby carriers are safer than strollers. The main shrine is about 10 minutes walk one way, manageable even for small children. It's best to visit before dusk.
Best time to visit
40 minutes to 1 hour for shrine visit; best before evening
